RHS Hampton Court
We were honoured to be selected as part of the construction team for the Association of Professional Landscapers’ show garden “A Place To Meet” at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival.
Show gardens demand absolute precision, close collaboration and the ability to deliver complex detailing to an immovable deadline. This project provided an opportunity to contribute our craftsmanship within a highly skilled, multi-contractor environment at one of the UK’s most prestigious horticultural events.
Location: RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, Surrey
Design: Cherry Carmen
Scope: Collaborative APL Member Build (including M Withall Landscapes)
Materials: London Stone, Kebur
Working to a fixed design and programme, the objective was to construct the garden to an exacting standard within the limited build schedule typical of RHS shows.
Every element required accuracy, efficiency and seamless coordination with fellow APL members to ensure the finished space reflected the quality and professionalism of the association.
The garden was constructed using premium materials supplied by London Stone, with a strong emphasis on clean detailing, precise alignment and high-quality finishing throughout.
As with all RHS show builds, logistics, sequencing and teamwork were critical. The compressed timeframe required careful planning and disciplined execution, while maintaining the level of finish expected at national show level.
Working alongside other leading landscaping companies also provided a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, techniques and best practice within the industry.

“APL A Place to Meet” was a Silver Medal-winning Show Garden at the 2019 RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, designed by Cherry Carmen. It focused on combining modern, hard landscape materials—such as black granite and Jura Grey limestone—with soft, wildlife-friendly, and naturalistic planting, featuring a relaxing space with a dipping pool.
