The Overview

This project involved the creation of a contemporary porcelain terrace and connecting pathway to integrate a newly constructed garden room with the existing outdoor space. The aim was to establish a seamless visual and physical link between the two areas, forming a unified setting for entertaining while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic.

The Brief

The client wanted a stylish and low-maintenance outdoor surface that would extend the usability of the garden and allow the new garden room to feel fully connected to the main terrace. A clear flow between spaces was essential, along with subtle lighting to enable comfortable evening use and enhance the overall atmosphere.

Further Information

Large-format porcelain paving was selected for its crisp appearance, durability and minimal maintenance requirements. The material complements the contemporary architecture of the garden room while providing a disciplined and consistent surface for outdoor living. A generous seating terrace was formed adjacent to the garden room, creating a dedicated zone for dining and relaxation. A matching porcelain pathway was then carefully set out to connect this new space with the existing terrace, ensuring alignment of joints and continuity of levels for a seamless transition.
Discreet LED lighting was integrated along the edges of the paving to define the geometry after dark. The lighting not only improves safety and navigation but introduces a warm ambient glow that reinforces the architectural lines of the layout.

The Outcome

The result is a clean, modern and highly functional garden that delivers year-round usability with minimal maintenance.
