This project has been our biggest to date in terms of both budget and scale. We were initially contacted by our client after they had completed a rear kitchen extension. Although the existing Paving to the driveway and patios was originally well constructed our client decided it was time for an update. We met on a couple of occasions to discuss budget, materials and scope.

The driveway had a prominent entranceway, the driveway had to have the same impact. Due to the scale of the area, it was decided that Marshalls Drivesys Original Cobble would be the choice of paviour. Ranging in 5 different sizes we also mixed all three available colours to break up the area and bring the appearance of an original cobble surface to the property. The paving was installed at a 45-degree angle throughout to give consistency and interest to all areas.

A new feature wall was constructed along the outside boundary of the driveway which was finished with natural stone cladding. The copings were template on-site and then bespoke made by London Stone. The curves perfectly aligned to the wall. A very special feature.

The patio, pathway and pool surround was installed using London Stone Mirage Sandstone which was pre-sealed before delivery to site. To complement the large format paving a consistent 5mm was introduced to give a sharp and neat finish. The joints were pointed with a two-part resin system to strengthen the paving.

A raised bed was constructed and again finished with natural stone cladding and matching copings.

All steps were mitred and bevelled to give complete stone risers and treads. All surface water drainage components were replaced with stainless steel units to add a touch of class and detail to the often out of place areas.

On the whole, this has been our favourite project to date and our clients were so trusting in us making this very large scale project run as smoothly as could be from start to finish. Thank you again for employing us to transform the outdoor space of this property.
